This community portal hosts a number of resources for the special needs of peoples within our community.
The Karen are an ethnic group from Burma (Myanmar), many of whom fled Burma due to religious and ethnic persecution by the government. 140,000 refugees from Burma, mostly Karen, are living in refugee camps in Thailand, some for as many as 20 years.

There is a very useful information package for use when interacting with a Karen located on the main ED floor, in the cabinet beside the printer.

There is also a physical recource package located in the ED. On the main floor beside the printer there is a cupboard with a number of resources, where you will find the 'Deaf Information Kit'.
Inside this kit are a number of plastic bag for storing hearing aids, a set of cards with simple sign language for communication and instuctions to guide you through your interaction with the patient, and a small whiteboard to facilitate the patient to respond in writing.
Below are documents to help in caring for visually impaired patients.
