Nursing Education
Nursing Education sessions are held every Monday, Tuesday and Thursday from 1:35pm, immediately after 'huddle'. Nursing staff are strongly encouraged to attend. The CNC coordinates bookings, however all staff are encouraged to deliver an in-service session annually.
Tutorials organized by the Post Graduate Nursing Course Educators are primarily provided for the Post Graduate Nursing Course students, however all staff are very welcome to attend these.
Please ensure you write your name and payroll number on the training attendance record at all education sessions you attend, as this is later added to an electronic database which records the education you have attended.
Advanced Life Support Credentialing
All Nursing Staff are expected to obtain their Advanced Life Support (ALS) competency within the first three months of employment in the Department. It is your responsibility to arrange a time for your ALS assessment, the ED has around 12 workplace ALS assessors.
- Access the Bendigo Health Intranet for the ALS Education Package, or request from the CNC office. The learning content can be borrowed in hard copy, or emailed.
